TODAY’S HAPPY HOURS & EATS 🍷
Well, due to an absolutely overwhelming lack of interest, we will NOT be doing discount cards for area restaurants. Sorry to those who were interested.
Also, you’ve got the weekend left to enjoy some 1-year anniversary drink specials at Bites of Europe.
And there’s a new restaurant in Summerlin. Brunello LV opened on Tuesday in Sun City. It’s as Italian as it sounds, and they’re working a daily Happy Hour from 3-5 pm.
Drink Specials + Giveaways
Through Sunday, October 20

Did You Know? 🦋
Butterflies drink blood.
Blooderflies
Now, before you start picturing tiny butterfly vampires swooping in with fangs bared, I’ll ease your mind: butterflies don't have the equipment to bite or drain anyone. But if they happen to stumble upon some blood that's already been spilled? Well… they'll drink the heck out of it.
Butterflies, like many insects, are opportunistic feeders. While most of them stick to their flowery nectar diets, they also love to supplement their meals with sodium and other minerals. Enter blood, which is a pretty good source of these minerals, especially salt, and butterflies are all about that salty goodness.
And just when you think you’ve learned everything you didn’t want to know about beautiful, seemingly innocent, butterflies today, blood isn’t the only think they’ll drink from you. The will happily sip on anything salty or mineral-rich, which includes any sweat you leave behind or your tears.
That’s right - BUTTERFLIES. WILL. DRINK. YOUR. TEARS. Brutal, man.
But the most common source of salty goodness they tend to find in the wild is mud puddles, which they will also slurp right up through their proboscis, which functions a bit like a straw. It's called "mud-puddling" (yes, that is the actual technical term), and it’s a little bit gross if you think about it.
So, if you encounter a butterfly in the wild, and it lands on you, you can choose to keep thinking it’s the mystical, spiritual moment that it feels like. Or you can now know that it’s likely drinking your sweat. Mmm, delicious.
They always tell you to wear bright colors to attract butterflies, but maybe you’d be better off nicking yourself with a razor.

AROUND THE VALLEY đź“Ť
Here are some things Around the Valley we think might be of interest -
Early Voting Starts Tomorrow 🗳️
One place you can do it this weekend is at Rainbow Library (both Saturday and Sunday), but you don’t have to get to the library to get your voting out of the way. All early voting stations around the Valley open tomorrow, and will be open through November 1st.
Bally’s Wants You to Walk to the Stadium ⚾
Looking forward to the A’s finally landing in Las Vegas? You might not want to look to forward to it. Because, with the new stadium mock-ups, it seems Bally’s is trying to make it as annoying as possible to get to a game. Along with turning the stadium into part of a resort, they are asking for a waiver to reduce the number of required parking spaces for the stadium by 2/3 from 7,500 dedicated spaces to 2,500 dedicated spaces… because, apparently, they don’t want locals to come.
