TODAYāS HAPPY HOURS & EATS š„š
Want to get metal? Youāve got your chance tonight and tomorrow at Aces and Ales.
To welcome Evolve Brewing to Las Vegas, Aces and Ales is throwing a rockinā celebration at their Tenaya (Summerlin) location. Tonight and tomorrow, you can meet Derek Riggs, the artist who created Iron Maidenās freaky mascot Eddie, and Black Sabbath drummer Vinny Appice. While this feels like a weird thing to mention in our āEatsā section, it IS at a restaurant and there WILL be beer.

Did You Know? š·
Human flesh doesnāt, in fact, taste like chicken.
It tastes like pork.
At least, according to cannibals.
The idea that we even have this information is quite horrible, but weāve had enough people-eaters throughout history to know what human beings taste like. And cannibals love to weigh in on flavor notes.
But though their specifics might change, when it comes to generalizing, four out of five cannibals agree - people meat tastes like pork. It also cooks up like pork, and has a similar texture.
Famous people-eaters, like 1930s German cannibal Karl Denke, likened human chops to pork. So did tribes widely known to practice ritualistic cannibalism.
Human flesh is also referred to as ālong pigā in some cultures with histories of cannibalism - a term that has since become slang for those good ole cuts of human flesh.
Apparently, weāre āvery tenderā and both ābitterā and āsweet,ā which, honestly, pretty much describes us humans to a T, doesnāt, it?
So, just why do we have so many piggy properties? Well, thereās an actual reason for that, and four out of five cannibals are probably correct in their tasting descriptions. Like pigs, weāre omnivores, which means we eat a lot of the same variety that pigs do, so thereās a biological reason for our flavor similarities. We literally are what we eat.
Now, you can file this one away under āThings I Never Needed to Know,ā and the next time you hear someone wonder aloud if humans taste like chicken, you can confidently tell them we do not.

AROUND THE VALLEY š
Here are some things Around the Valley we think might be of interest -
Oktoberfest š»š
Like beer and brats? Because itās not just spooky-time, yāall. Itās also October, and this weekend itās Oktoberfest in Las Vegas.
The German American Social Club (1110 E Lake Mead Blvd) is holding its annual Oktoberfest this weekend with German beer, German food, and German music. Itās tonight and tomorrow 4-10 pm, and traditional dress is encouraged.
So, grab those lederhosen and get ready to oompah.
How Much Would YOU Pay to See Adele? š¤
So, Adele launches her last dates in Las Vegas at the end of the month, after postponing them to rest. And the ticket prices areā¦ stupid.
Now, Iām never going to shame someone for spending money on the things they love (Iāve flown overseas multiple times for concerts, so I get it), but, wow, have you checked out the resale prices of those puppies? Because yikes! Iām not sure if all the tickets were bought up by scalpers just looking to turn a quick buck, or if people who bought tickets intending to actually go to the concerts saw their chance to pay their mortgages for a year by unloading their tickets. Because they couldā¦ and then some.
But then, weāre in a time of insane prices. I just saw that Oasis tickets for their upcoming tour are going for more than I paid to see MADONNA FROM LIKE THE 10th ROW. Sure, it was more than a decade ago, but what is happening?!
Anyway, Adele also announced sheās going on an indefinite hiatus after these shows, so scarcity works, I guess? And, if youāve got $5000 lying around somewhere and really want to see Adele, thatās about what itāll cost you for the average ticket right now.
