Do you have an absolutely stunner of a pet? đŸ¶ If you’ve ever looked at your furry family member and thought, “Kid, you should be a model,” now’s your chance. The Nevada SPCA has opened entries for its annual pet calendar contest. Through June 14th, you can submit pictures of your pet on the contest website.

The contest is open to dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and pet rats, and the calendar distribution will be: 5 dogs, 5 cats, 2 small pets. It’s $20 to enter, but all entrance fees (and calendar sales) support the Nevada SPCA.

If you don’t have a pet in one of the accepted categories, or your pet is super lovable, but not entirely photogenic, don’t dismay. We can all get in on the voting action starting on June 17th.

Well, it’s Tuesday, and we’re straying back to tacos. In fact, we’re straying to a couple of taco places that are participating in Las Vegas Restaurant Week, just in case you want to double-dip on your discounts. (Or give a place a test before committing to a full prix-fixe.)

First up, at Hussong’s Cantina, they’re serving up every meal for Restaurant Week with brunch, lunch, and dinner prix-fixes. And, yes, tacos are an entrĂ©e option (on the lunch and dinner prix-fixes).

Nearby, in Tivoli Village, El Dorado Cantina is serving up a choiceless prix-fixe (which, I suppose, is a choice of sorts) for both lunch and dinner. No tacos on it, but they do serve a 10-taco platter for $65 all the time, which makes their street tacos a reasonable Happy Hour price if you’re sharing with friends.

You can tell the age of a male bighorn sheep the same way you can tell the age of a tree - by counting its rings.

Here's how it works: The horns of a bighorn sheep grow continuously throughout their lives. During periods of rapid growth, typically in spring and summer when nature is a smorgasbord, the bighorn’s horns expand significantly. But in the fall and winter, when food gets scarce and hormonal changes occur, this growth slows down, creating a visible ring. Known as annuli, these growth rings show a sheep’s age, kind of like laugh lines or gray hair in humans.

So, the next time you’re feeling a bit old, just remember at least no one can tell your exact age just by counting your wrinkles.
