In more immediate news, if you were planning to walk into a DMV tomorrow to take care of some motor vehicle business, you’re going to have to make an appointment. The DMV is suspending Walk-In Wednesdays at many locations due to the heat. And you know when the DMV is trying to make you more comfortable, things have gotten real.

Home Means Nevada 🚙

Since we’ve already mentioned the DMV, let’s talk license plates. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, nearly 2 million of the 3 million registered vehicles in Nevada carry the standard “Home Means Nevada” license plate.

Of the special plates offered by the DMV, the most popular is the Las Vegas Commemorative plate with the picture of the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign.

I’m a standard plate person myself, but if I were to get a special plate, it would probably be the “Support Wildlife” one because bighorns are my jam. But I also think the “Children in the Arts” and “Opportunity Village” plates are super nice to put my eyeballs on.

UNLV Kickoff 🏈

If you’re jonesing to get some UNLV Rebels’ football back in your life, you now have a date to mark with a scarlet heart on your calendar. The Rebels’ home opener against Utah Tech has been scheduled for September 7 at noon.
